My Daily List

By this point, you all know that I truly love 3 things: heavy metal, yoga, and writing lists. I know. I’m super cool, right? But they’re the things I turn to to feel grounded and sane. I’ve been on even more of a list kick lately (like, I have several different journals that I use for lists and other notes on a daily basis; it’s out of control!) and I wanted to share my daily list with you. I’m always searching for ways to improve myself, so I’ve created an easy list of goals that I try to do for myself everyday. The whole list takes less than an hour, and I like to do it as a way to start my day when my weird work schedule allows. Continue reading

Simplify and Save Part 2: Travel Tips

It’s been a whirlwind couple of months where I’ve had the opportunity to revisit a lot of my favorite travel destinations! In December, I went to Las Vegas (which is, don’t judge me, my favorite place in the whole world); last month I went to NYC; tomorrow I’ll be in Honolulu, Hawaii; later this month I’ll get to visit Washington, D.C. for the first time! But 2016 ended and 2017 began in a busy blur. I worked at my restaurant job more than I ever have in one weekend. I spent my new year’s day at work bartending for 20 hours. Yup, you read that right. This meant no time for anything that day, besides 4 hours of sleep before my shift began and another 4 after I got home that night. And I was such an exhausted blur for the next few days it took me a while to get around to writing my list. I was too busy taking cat naps and crying, no joke.

Preparing for the New Year

The New Year is my favorite holiday. It’s full of excitement, and hope, and a sense of newness and change. I love taking the time to reminisce about the previous year, and to set goals and resolutions for the year to come. Me and my lists, ya know?

Starting the new year off right means ending the current one on a good note. We can’t move forward if there are things holding us back! In my yoga classes the past few weeks, I’ve been discussing how to prepare for the new year. Each week, I’ve focused on a different idea about letting go and of the past and setting yourself up for success in the future. Continue reading

Learning from Injury and Illness

Getting sick is a bummer. Getting hurt is a bummer. But sometimes, these setbacks can be blessings in disguise.

I truly believe that everything happens for a reason, and sometimes these reasons surprise us. These lessons can be especially hard to learn when you find yourself suffering pain or illness that ends up keeping you from your hobbies and goals.
